hot off the presses. we just got these in last nite from portland. this is our first real peak at body work, glass candys much anticipated third album. johnny & ida have been destroying clubs with both of these tracks for almost two years now. forever pushing forward into new ground from where b/e/a/t/b/o/x & 2010s feeling without touching left off, they candy coated this slice of analog glamour & sprinkled it with some stardust on top. lazer driven melodies bounce off electro primitive drums that would make moe tucker proud. idas crazy like a monkey & happy like a new year as she sings a call & response to the crowd. >warm in the winter< continues to unfold for seven plus minutes of shimmering percussive synth. the proto boogie b side >beautiful object< is so grimey it makes us think of bbbb s production on the first madonna album. the rhythms keep turning while future & past collide. johnny gives us the usual dosage of heavy bass & crisp handclaps. written & recorded in the icey montreal winter. mixed for all seasons.

after inigos deeper & slower excursions on his 2 previous eps >the shard< & >the darkest valentine<, he now returns to his dirtier, more energetic tricks. as usual, i have been sitting on these tracks a while and both of them have been thoroughly road tested. >revenge< can rip up any dance floor peak time, while >scatter< explores idm territory, almost in afx fashion.

love it or leave it. stl has done it again. another four tracker of raw electronic beats and mind rumbling grooves. jacking house tracks composed on analog hardware, executed without any static computer arrangements, to keep the true spirit and feeling of each session alive. these sounds are like mad colourful old school gaming, taking the listener on adventures to head, feet and soul in all it s full maniac beauty. number 17 of the something vinyl series is another lovely manifest of an artist mind picture which is not easy to categorysize. surely it won t fit in any style and ear, but those who are already sold to stl s lo-fi kind of sounds will get another dope piece of vinyl in order to make them dance and listen. sweet transmissions from a universe dominated by sound. pressed on a handsome 12inch in very limited quantities !

mihalis safras turns slightly towards hi-energy as it was executed in perfection by genius bobby orlando. sure mihalis keeps his new trapez ltd track >alba< techno but uses these catchy appegiator sounds that give it a rush of adrenaline, what we are so grateful for. a big track from the greek adonis.

this is the third of the black dogs liber series of releases that are purely aimed at the dance floor. it follows the previous, well received liber kult & liber temple 12s, these singles all lead to liber dogma, due on soma in october, and further chapters. high rise choir reprise opens with clattering percussion taken straight from recordings at forgemasters before a face-ripping gut-wrenching bassline cuts through with one of the black dogs strongest minimal grooves yet. built to move heads and feet, the hypnotic groove hooks you instantly while the haunting strings bring the emotion in massive dark waves, you cant help but fall into this track. beautifully simple, addictive and massive. dissident bleep is just that. over the years the myth that sheffield is all about bleep and bass has gathered ground but those who live here know its all about the bass. industrial repetition gives way to twisted vocal samples of >over, over<, a sure-fire nod to cabaret voltaire, before the kicks and filters pummel you.

above smoke & ernie in a shared hot four tracks ep. ernie starts the fire with >delicious time<, a killer gospel-house song with acid turns for these late night moments. >running< represents the jazzy deep face of above smoke. otherwise, with >grooving you< he ups the tempo to the groove zone. finally ernie closes the 12 inch with >funny break< a tense downbeat experience for demanding gourmets…
